Our mission to eliminate hunger in Indiana and around the world starts with providing nutritious food, hunger education, and service opportunities.
Through our meal packing programs, we create the highly nutritious Nutri-Plenty® meal. It is a dehydrated mix of rice, soy, veggies and a powerful micronutrient pack. This tasty meal provides essential nutrition that has been clinically proven to offset chronic malnutrition in children.
Locally, these meals are distributed through food pantries, school programs and community centers. Internationally, our meals are served in schools and community nutrition programs in countries where chronic malnutrition is prevalent.
Educating our communities about hunger is a critical component of our mission. Every year we educate thousands of volunteers about hunger’s far-reaching implications. We’re especially passionate about engaging children of all ages to help them understand that hunger that exists in every corner of the world.
By combining hunger education programming with meal packing events at schools and summer camps, we inspire the next generation of hunger advocates and provide them a meaningful, hands-on volunteer experience.
Meal packing events are our primary tool in the fight against hunger. A meal pack is a fun, hands-on way for groups of all sizes to participate in a service activity that makes a meaningful impact for people in need. The events are appropriate for all ages and abilities, allowing groups of all sizes to serve together and build camaraderie. Plus, volunteers get to wear a fashionable hairnet!
